IN THE FUTURE,
WHERE FREEDOM
IS A CRIME.
ONLY ONE THING IS
STRONGER THAN
THE SYSTEM.
THE MAN THAT
BRINGS IT DOWN.
|

In the model government of the
future all feelings are forbidden by law. Every citizen is obligated -
under the penalty of death - to take their daily dosage of a drug,
which numbs the center of emotions of the brain. Swift death will come
to the daredevils, who share a common interest for literature or art.
After the third world war a dictator in power believes, that the human
emotions are a serious threat to the society. The emotion police of the
tyrant move in the midst of the citizens and eliminate the persons, who
refuse to take their psyche altering Prozium-dosage. But then the
freedom fighter hunting agent Preston, unintentionally forgets to take
his own dosage - with dramatic consequences. Now Preston experiences
strong emotions, which cause him to question the misrule that he
serves. The special agent starts to understand why the resistance is
willing to sacrifice everything to bring back emotions to the society.
The pupil of the system also has the means to strike back at the system.
The world of the movie directed by
KURT WIMMER is stunningly beautiful and in the immense action scenes
there has been used the Gun-Kata-combat technique which is an explosive
combination of western firearms and eastern martial arts. In the eye of
the storm there is agent Preston, who is played by the brilliant
CHRISTIAN BALE ("American Psycho"). Oscar -nominee EMILY WATSON ("Red
Dragon") in the other hand is a fiery resistance fighter, who is ready
for anything to free the humanity. This fabulously directed movie is a
feast of futuristic special effects and strong characters, which takes
the viewer to an unforgettable journey beyond the end of the world.
